Did you know?
In
the UK, we're consuming three times our fair share of the planet's
natural resources. And if we don't change our lifestyles, by 2030 we
will need 50% more food, 45% more energy and 30% more water than we do
today.
That's why WWF's Earth Hour is so important. It's about
realising that the way we live our lives as individuals has an impact
on the world. We all depend on our amazing planet and need to look
after it - not just for an hour a year, but every day.
And you
can start right now. There are loads of simple things you can do to
help protect our brilliant planet, from changing the way you eat to
making your home more energy-efficient.
Let's
hope that world leaders are taking note. The next UN Conference on
Sustainable Development will be taking place in Rio this June. They'll
be looking at ways to create a more sustainable world by tackling
problems such as food, energy and water security. Find out more about Rio+20 here

P.S.
The way we use the planet's resources makes up our ecological footprint. Why not measure yours using our footprint calculator - it takes less than five minutes and could set you on a life-changing journey...
